The GM-CA @ APS mission is to build and operate three highly automated, high-throughput Macromolecular Crystallography beamlines at the APS. Two Insertion Device beamlines (23-ID-D and 23-ID-B utilizing X-rays from a canted undulator along with one Bending Magnet (BM) line operate at the APS Sector 23.
Construction of the beamlines optics was contracted to Accel Instruments GmbH (now Axilon AG) while the endstations and the control system are designed in house.
Some details about the sector layout and beamline specifications can be found in the following PDF document.
The 23-ID-D beamline installation was completed in April of 2005 and became fully operational in January of 2006.
The 23-ID-B beamline became fully operational at the end of 2006.
