2023/04/01 APS is closing for a year-long ring update. During that period GM/CA @ APS will be upgrading beamline optics, endstations, control system and computing infrastructure.
2023/03/01 GM/CA @ APS is hosting 15th CCP4 Crystallographic Summer School "From data processing to structure refinement and beyond". The school is back from virtual to physical particiption.
2022/06/01 GM/CA @ APS is hosting 14th CCP4 Crystallographic Summer School "From data processing to structure refinement and beyond". The school is held virtually: all instructors and students are remote.
2021/06/01 GM/CA @ APS is hosting 13th CCP4 Crystallographic Summer School "From data processing to structure refinement and beyond". Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the school is first time held virtually: all instructors and students are remote.
2020/09/01 The aging Kirkpatrick-Baez focusing bimorph mirrors at beamline 23ID-D are replaced by a transfocator with compound refractive lenses (CRLs).
2020/01/01 White beam slits at 23ID-D and 23ID-B beamlines were replaced by new APS-designed slits allowing for better-quality small X-ray beams.
2019/06/01 GM/CA @ APS hosted 12th CCP4 Crystallographic Summer School "From data processing to structure refinement and beyond".
2019/05/01 GM/CA @ APS implemented automated data processing pipeline for serial crystallography.
2019/05/01 GM/CA @ APS began porting the JBluIce data acquisition and automated processing software from Java to Python. First Python-based graphical interface tab was released.
2019/01/01 GM/CA ID beamlines distributed data storage capacity was doubled to over a petabyte (1,152 TB).
